This agreement sets out the commitments expected of all players representing Downey Park Netball Association (DPNA) in our junior and senior representative programs. For players under 18 years of age, parents/guardians must review the agreement with their child and confirm that the player understands and agrees to these commitments. Please note that any breaches of the agreement may impact a player’s participation and/or future representative selection.

Terms and conditions

  • Behaviour & Conduct
    • Players and parents/guardians must abide by the DPNA General Code of Behaviour and the relevant Player and Parent/Guardian Codes of Behaviour.

  • Registration & Participation
    • Players must register with a DPNA-affiliated club and participate regularly in the DPNA Winter Fixtures in the same year they represent DPNA, unless formally exempted by DPNA.

    • Players must wear the DPNA representative uniform correctly and with pride at all representative events.

  • Attendance, Commitment & Team Responsibilities
    • Players are expected to attend all scheduled training sessions, carnivals, matches, and team activities as directed by the coach.
    • Players must arrive on time, prepared, and ready to train or compete.
    • Players must inform the team manager in advance if they cannot attend any scheduled training, carnivals, matches, or team activities. Parents/guardians, where applicable, will support their player by helping with attendance and communicating availability to the team manager.
    • Players and parents/guardians may be asked to assist with match duties such as scoring or timing, or support team fundraising and community engagement activities when required.
  • Teamwork & Sportsmanship
    • Players and parents/guardians will respect and support all coaching and selection decisions, understanding they are made in the best interests of the team.
    • Players agree to play any position as required by the team.
    • Players under 18 years of age must remain with their team during all representative events unless the coach or team manager grants permission to leave.
  • Health & Wellbeing
    • Players are responsible for maintaining their overall health and wellbeing throughout the representative season.
    • Any relevant medical conditions, injuries, or wellbeing concerns that may affect participation must be notified to the team manager or coach.
    • Medical documentation may be requested by the DPNA Development & Rep Coordinator to confirm a player’s ability to participate.
    • The final determination of whether a player is fit to play rests with the coaching staff and DPNA Management Committee. This decision considers medical clearance, physical performance, overall health, safety and wellbeing.
  • Game Time Acknowledgement
    DPNA enforces minimum game time as follows:
    • Prep-For-Rep players – 50% at representative carnivals
    • Junior State Age (JSA) players – 50% at representative carnivals and across all four days of JSA
    • Senior State Age (SSA) players – 33% at representative carnivals and across all four days of SSA
    • Greater Brisbane Netball League (GBNL) players – no minimum game time, except where required for GBNL finals eligibility
  • Social Media & Messaging Platforms
    • Players and parents/guardians must use social media platforms and messaging apps responsibly and respectfully.
    • No abusive, discriminatory, offensive, or negative content may be posted, shared or sent regarding DPNA players, coaches, officials, opponents, or the wider netball community.
    • DPNA maintains zero tolerance for online misconduct, including cyberbullying, harassment or the spreading of false information.
  • Communication & Grievance Procedure
    • Any issues must be addressed in accordance with the DPNA Rep Player/Parent Grievance Procedure.

  • DPNA Representative Program Agreement
    • By signing this agreement, the player commits to contributing positively to their team, supporting the goals of the DPNA Representative Program, and representing DPNA with pride, integrity, and respect throughout the representative season.
    • For players under 18, parents/guardians confirm they have discussed this agreement with their child, who understands and agrees to the expectations, and acknowledge that breaches may affect the player’s participation or selection.
    • Parents/guardians of any age player are encouraged to support all players in meeting these expectations, though their involvement is optional for players 18 and over.
