These coach education workshops are designed for club coaches at every stage of their coaching journey. Both sessions will explore different aspects of coach and player development. Coaches can attend one or both sessions:

#1 Mon 30 Mar, 6:00pm - Principles of Coaching and Back to Basics Approach
Introduces the core principles of coaching, emphasising the fundamental role of a coach. It highlights the importance of the KNEE Program for injury prevention and techniques to enhance player safety. The session also covers the fundamental skills and strategies of netball, including player development and key coaching frameworks.
This session further dives into the fundamental of skill development in netball, focusing on the “Back to Basics” approach. Coaches will explore the “Good, Better, How” framework, which helps players understand the difference between current skill levels and areas for improvement.
#2 Sat 16 May, 9:00am | #3 Sat 16 May, 1:00pm – Skill Advancement and Session Planning
These sessions cover effective skill progression techniques, providing strategies to advance players from basic to more complex movements. Coaches will also learn the process of detection and correction, ensuring players receive adequate feedback to build a solid foundation of fundamental skills. Additionally, the session introduces the CHANGE IT Framework, a practical tool that helps modify drills and activities to cater to different skill levels, ensuring all players are challenged, engaged, and supported in their learning process. The session further features the essential aspects of session planning, highlighting key elements that help maintain a balance between technical skills and tactical understanding. Coaches will learn how to create structured, purposeful sessions that align with team goals and player development.
