Greater Brisbane Netball League (GBNL)

The Greater Brisbane Netball League (GBNL) began in 2021, replacing the Queensland Premier League Zone 6 competition.

It is managed by netball associations for both association and university players and caters for players turning 15 or older in the year of Competition and includes 16 years, 18 years, 23 years, and Opens groups.

2027 GBNL Trials

The 2027 GBNL Trials are for players who wish to trial for DPNA's 2027 GBNL teams. GBNL Competition is for players aged 15 Years to Opens.

**ALL GBNL EMERALD PLAYERS ARE ELIGIBLE TO TRIAL FOR SELECTION IN THE 2027 SEASON**

Trial #1: Monday 25 January 2027, 5:30-9:00pm
Trial #2 Monday 1 February 2027, 5:30-9:00pm
Trial times to be determined by no. triallists per age group

ATTENDANCE
Attendance at both trials is compulsory. Players who do not attend Trial #1 & Trial #2 without explanation will be deemed ineligible for selection. Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis. If a player is unable to attend due to illness or injury, they must notify DPNA by emailing coaching@downeypark.com.au. In such cases, a medical certificate and/or return-to-play plan must be submitted in order to remain eligible.

PREFERRED TRIAL POSITIONS
Players must nominate two preferred positions. However, selectors reserve the right to trial or select players in alternate positions based on team needs and player versatility.

$20 per player

TEAM ANNOUNCEMENTS
Teams will be announced via email on Friday 5 February 2026.

One or two teams per age group will be selected following trials, depending on participant numbers. Training Partners may also be selected, based on age group and overall numbers.

TRAINING SESSIONS
Strength & Conditioning: Friday 12 February 2027, 6:30-8:00pm for 4 weeks.

Training: Commences Monday 8 February 2027, 7:00-9:00pm (2 hour training session, times can be negotiated with DPNA).

COMPETITION DATES
GBNL Grading (23s & Opens): Thursday 11 & 18 March 2027.
GBNL Grading (16s & 18s): Friday 12 & 19 March 2027.
GBNL Fixtures (23s & Opens): Commence Thursday 15 April 2027.
GBNL Fixtures (16s & 18s): Commence Friday 16 April 2027.
