Nissan State Age

Due to the lockdown announced today, Netball Queensland has taken the difficult decision to postpone our 2021 Nissan State Age Championship due to start this weekend on the Sunshine Coast.  As the largest participation event in Netball Queensland’s calendar, we have been planning and preparing for this event for a very long time. This outbreak and the decision to postpone the event will affect more than 20,000 participants, supporters, staff, volunteers, vendors, commercial partners, and media who attend our State Age event. However, the health and wellbeing of the community must come first. There is significant risk hosting an event of this size when we are heading into a lockdown due to cases in the community and more practically, the snap lockdown means we are not able to prepare and set-up for the event. We appreciate that the lockdown and postponement of State Age will impact on planned travel and accommodation arrangements.  Given we are postponing not cancelling the event, we encourage as many teams as possible to seek credits against bookings.  We hope to see everyone back together later in the year. Further information around the rescheduling of this event will be provided in the coming weeks.

DPNA run an 8-week NetSetGO Skills Program for 5-7yr old boys and girls. The weekly program is coordinated by accredited coaches to ensure a quality experience for all participants. Participants take part in skill based activities and fun games to help them develop fundamental movement skills, the technical and tactical skills of netball, as well as important social skills like team work. 

The 2021 DPNA 8-week NetSetGO Skills Program for 5-7yr olds will be:

CANTEEN CONVENOR

We’re on the lookout for a Canteen Convenor for Season 2021!

This is a crucial role for our association, and is also a paid position.

This person will be responsible for the full operation of the canteen on game days during the winter season, as well as any other carnival or event days, and for keeping our players, coaches, managers, umpires, committee and parents full of energy for every game

DPNA is also looking for casual staff (multiple positions available) to assist in the preparation and sale of food and beverages from the DPNA Canteen and/or BBQ.

Registrations for the 2021 Season have opened today via the new NetballConnect. **Please note some clubs have not yet opened up their registrations so please check for email updates from your club before trying to register.

Some trouble-shooting tips:

• For players 18yrs and younger, the parent/guardian should have an account and THEN register your child! Look out for the question "Are you registering yourself?" and check the appropriate option.

• Ideally you want to use the link provided to you by your club

• If you don't have the link, when you get to the "Select Organisation" in the Competition drop down box, please search for your Club NOT Downey Park. The DPNA Winter Competition will then show on the next step.

• Please also double check that you are selecting the right club based at Downey Park (there are some common club names across Qld!)
  

• If you are unable to find your club, please contact your club directly (contact details for all clubs available on our website). Reminder - some clubs have not opened up for registration yet.

• If you cannot find "2021 DPNA Winter Season", please do not select anything else as other options will register you into other programs and you will be ineligible to play. Please contact your club for instructions if you are unsure.

• Finally, please be patient. Most of our clubs are run by volunteers who also have full-time jobs, families, study etc. This is a brand new system and everyone is still learning the ins-and-outs of it. There will possibly be a few teething problems but if we all stay calm and patient, we will get it sorted and get back playing our fantastic game!!
