2021 DPNA UMPIRE COURSES, WORKSHOPS & MEETINGS

UMPIRE CONVENORS' MEETING

All Umpire Convenors are expected to attend this meeting. If an Umpire Convenor is unable to attend, a suitable representative should attend in their place. 

Where: Downey Park Netball Association, Diana Moore Clubhouse Meeting Room

When: Wednesday 03 March 2021, 6-7pm


INTRODUCTION TO UMPIRING 

This course is recommended for new umpires and for umpires progressing from non-competitive to competitive umpiring. The course is also a good refresher for umpires who have not umpired recently. 

Where: Downey Park Netball Association, Diana Moore Clubhouse Meeting Room

When: #1 - Saturday 06 March 2021, 9am-11am

#2 - Saturday 13 March 2021, 9am-11am

Attendance only required at one of the above dates. 

Cost: $15.00 per umpire - Clubs will be invoiced for the number of umpires attending

What to bring There will be both theory and practical components of this course so please bring along a note book and a pen, a whistle, water, a hat and wear comfortable clothes and sneakers. Whistles will be available for purchase on the day ($7.50). Hard copies of the INF Netball Rules books will also be available for purchase ($20). Note: the INF Rules Rules book can now also be downloaded as either a PDF or App (App store and Android) - just search 'rules of netball'

NETSETGO RULES WORKSHOP

This workshop is recommended for all umpires, coaches, managers and parents who will be assisting with the NetSetGO Fixtures. The workshop is facilitated by the DPNA Umpire Convenor and will focus on the NetSetGO adaptations to the Netball Australia competitive rules. 

Where: Downey Park Netball Association, Diana Moore Clubhouse Meeting Room

When: #1 - Saturday 06 March 2021, 11:30am-1:30pm

#2 - Saturday 20 March 2021, 7:30am-8am 

Attendance only required at one of the above dates. Please note, workshop #2 is a Q&A session prior to the 1st game of Round 1 to answer any last minute questions.

Cost: No cost to attendees

UMPIRE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (UDP)

This program will run in conjunction with the DPNA State Age Rep Squad training sessions. 

Where: Downey Park Netball Association

When: Sunday afternoons - dates to be advised 

Cost: To be advised

The idea of this program is to give umpires who would like to pursue umpiring, at a representative level for Downey Park, to further develop their umpiring skills. There will be in depth theory sessions as well as Strength & Conditioning sessions with the DPNA State Age Rep Squads. Umpires attending this program would be expected to be available to umpire at various Representative Carnivals DPNA have nominated to compete in as well as being considered to umpire at 2021 Nissan State Age Carnival being held at Sunshine Coast Netball Association, 3-6 July.
